Our cost-free recruitment service sparks success

By identifying, hiring and onboarding the right talent for each company, Reed in Partnership’s WHP JETS team has had over 3,000 job starts in the first six months alone.
The team has supported numerous businesses to grow or diversify through the provision of skilled individuals ready to make a difference to each business. Two recent success stories are OML Trading Ltd and Bag It Don’t Bin It Ltd who as a result of engaging with the WHP JETS scheme, have successfully recruited into their growing teams to facilitate the workload within their businesses.
Reed in Partnership is dedicated to connecting and supporting businesses and candidates across the UK. Our ‘Ready for Everything’ campaign was launched in October 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the emerging need to collaborate with employers to fill their vacancies with a pool of skilled individuals who found themselves looking for work as a result of the pandemic.
Working on behalf of the DWP, the Work & Health Programme: WHP JETS scheme is a free government-backed scheme, designed to mobilise many job ready employees into new roles, whilst empowering businesses to solve their new recruitment challenges.
OML Trading Ltd are the parent company of PoundToy – a toy wholesaler based in Keighley. Meanwhile, Sheffield-based Bag It Don’t Bin It Ltd (BIDBI) is a manufacturer and seller of reusable cotton tote bags, designed to reduce plastic waste. Both businesses approached us in late 2020 with a need to recruit staff to support their operations.
Both businesses needed staff to expand their team following growth within the business, while still navigating the uncertainties of lockdown and requiring agility and flexibility to fill vacancies quickly and with the right people.
For OML, a new warehouse increased capacity and improved marketing combined with the Christmas high season at the end of 2020, meant that they urgently needed seasonal staff. These candidates would support the packing and distribution of their orders, which had increased as the festive period approached.
Similarly, BIDBI wanted to create brand new roles within their business that would be flexible and part-time, but would mark the beginning of their team’s expansion into 2021.
As the UK’s second national lockdown began in late 2020, both businesses needed to recruit staff quickly and efficiently – this needed to be both time-efficient for their team, and cost-effective for their budgets.
Reed in Partnership took similar approaches to help both businesses find the skilled team members that they needed.
For OML Trading Ltd, the WHP JETS team at Reed in Partnership provided a constant source of local people who would be willing and capable of fulfilling opportunities at short notice. This supplemented OML’s own recruitment efforts, freeing up valuable time and finances to focus on other areas of the business, while Reed in Partnership’s recruitment experts managed the recruitment process.
For BIDBI, the WHP JETS team reached out to their digital network and within just a few hours, were able to supply BIDBI with a list of candidates, and a shortlist for interviews – saving the BIDBI team hours of administrative work, advertising costs and time.
Within a few days, successful candidates were offered a paid trial, which held further promise of additional work and expansion into 2021 – something which was crucial to BIDBI’s growth plans.
Both OML and BIDBI were able to secure new employees with the straight-forward recruitment and onboarding process available for free through the WHP JETS scheme. After pooling local people who were skilled and ready to work at short notice, the WHP JETS team connected them with each organisation, not only helping these businesses find hard-working staff, but helping work-ready candidates to find immediate roles.
